Why I LOVE good German Rieslings
January 31, 2010
John at the Wine Merchant was very insistant on this wine. I can see why. First it was half off, $12 instead of $24. Second, it is J. J. Prüm Riesling Kabinett 2007. A great producer, at a great price. Classic Riesling nose of lime, thyme, green grape and clean fresh earth. The palate is viscous yet not heavy, Crisp bright acids and lime tones, with that slight honey tone, Crisp flavor, fine weight, rich not heavy. Served with grilled Caledonia Shrimp, head on and papardelle pasta tossed in garlic butter and finished with parsely and reggiano.
Yummo. DRINK THIS WINE! John bats it out of the park again.
Cheers,
