365 Days of Wine
Monday night, Alexander Valley priced to match
February 01, 2010
Monday night, steaks on sale, baked potato, Cesar salad. Calls for a reasonably priced, easy drinking full bodied red. Bring on the Field Stone Convivio red blend 2006. $12 everywhere, Cab, Merlot and Zin blend together for a fun easy drinking wine with the body to stand up to steak dinner and Cesar salad.
Cherry, smoke and tar on the nose, very rich. A rich palate, not so heavy but complex, red cherry, cocoa tannins, more tar and a long slightly copper finish. A lot going on, especially for the price. A no brainer for weekday dinner.
Drink this wine!
