Finally, affordable Red Burgundy returns!
January 05, 2010
After years of good Red Burgs being expensive, and affordable Red Burgs being horrible, a good and affordable Red Burg has re-appeared! The '07 Rodet Bourgogne is everything you want from Red Burg, the nice dark cherry fruits, smooth acids, good balance, touch of smoke and leather. A supple and lighter style, but still delivers on nose and palate. Best part is this little gem is priced well under $20. Neil Ruane, export manager for Rodet is adament that their wines be great values. I concur with his strategy and the results. Well worth looking for.
*Ethical Disclosure Note: I sell this wine to the Austin Market as part of my "day job"*
