Don't Worry, Be Happy Thanksgiving.

November 29, 2011

Yr Mst Hmbl & Obdt Svt here has been watching the interweb blogosphere the last few days, and everyone and their uncle is offering their unique advice on what wine to pair with Thanksgiving.  Well, I have the answer. Yes I know, everyone says that, but trust me, mine really is the right one.  I know I know. You Gentle Reader are thinking "pshaw, how arrogant is this guy" and "give me a break". Trust me. This really is the final answer for the perfect Thanksgiving wine pairings.

Ready?

You sure?

Here you go:

DRINK WHATEVER THE HELL WINES YOU LIKE AND FEEL LIKE DRINKING.

See, wasn't that easy and uncomplicated? But, there is indeed a vast amount of accuracy here. You see, the traditional American Thanksgiving meal is a mess. Turkey. Ham, Pork, Sweet potato, cranberry stuff, green bean stuff, pumpkin pie, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, dressing, oysters?...
What wine can handle all that? Fuggedaboudit.  It's not out there.

Throw your paws in the air, and just open up what you like to drink. It will work. Will it be "perfect"? Nah, but nothing will be perfect with that cacophony of flavors and spices and foods. So make YOURSELF happy and open your favorite, or whatever you crave. Relax and enjoy. Personaly, I'll be drinking Burgundy. White and Red. But that's just me.

Be Thankful that there is great wine to drink and people to share it with and good food on the table. I know I am!

Cheers and Happy Holiday to you and yours.
