Rob Moshein - The Austin Wine Guy

The joys of Italy

March 20, 2010

Back at Central Market (are you sensing a pattern here regular readers?) Looking again for something different, found this Riondo Pianello Rosso, Veneto 2008. $12 and mostly Corvina! Woo hoo! Corvina is so darn cool when done well.  This one was.

Rich warm bright nose, dark fruits, very pleasant almost floral tones. A medium bodied palate, more nice dark red fruits, a touch of clean earth, and good acids very well integrated and balanced. The evening was very cold and clear, this wine was a nice experience for the weather, and went very well with beef lasagna.

Drink this Wine!

Cheers,

Rob Moshein, Austin Wine Guy
