Rob Moshein - The Austin Wine Guy

Taurasi G. Riccardi 2002

March 17, 2010

I love Taurasi. I love Aglianico. This example is very savage, hugely earthy and tarry on the nose and palate.  The fruit is wholly overwhelmed by this beast of earth and asphalt flavors. The acids are fading a bit.  Not to be consumed on its own, it really needs food, in this case a steak on the grill.  At $16 retail, I'm not a huge fan.

Not the best example of Taurasi.

Cheers,
